I am new to Globe Auction. Where do I start?

You don’t need to be registered to browse or search through the auction or fixed price item listings on Globe Auction. If you see something you would like to bid on, you must first register*. Don't worry! Registration is free and easy! The Registration page will ask you to enter a Logon ID, which is the username or nickname you will be known by within the Globe Auction community, as well as a password and valid contact information. Your username is visible to others on the site. You will only need to register once on Globe Auction.

*Note that certain persons who have an existing relationship with the vendor of the item are excluded from participating in the auction and fixed price purchases. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for more details.

What are the system requirements needed to use Globe Auction?

For best results, we recommend that you use Internet Explorer 9 or higher, Chrome, Firefox or Safari.

What is your Privacy Policy?

For further information on how your personal information is collected, used and disclosed by The Globe and Mail, please consult our Privacy Policy and the Globe Auction Terms and Conditions.

Note that The Globe and Mail expects all members to respect and protect the privacy of others. The release of any member's personal information for reasons other than those specifically connected with Globe Auction is prohibited. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our Privacy Policy.

Why do I need to register with Globe Auction?

By registering with Globe Auction, you are letting other members know that you will participate in an honest, fair and professional manner. You must provide us with valid contact information so that we may contact you, if required, regarding your Globe Auction purchases.

Your Globe Auction registration is not the same as your account on www.theglobeandmail.com.

What does it cost to register?

Registration on Globe Auction is Free and Easy! There are no monthly membership fees, and there is no obligation to maintain your membership. Once you have submitted your registration, you will receive a confirmation e-mail message from Globe Auction and you will have instant access to Globe Auction products.

Do I need a credit card to register?

To register, you will only be asked to provide valid contact information and a valid e-mail address, but if you would like to bid on or purchase an item, you will need to add a valid credit card to your file. See the Globe Auction Buyer FAQs for more information.

Do I have to buy anything after I register?

No. You are not obligated to buy anything on Globe Auction by registering. You are welcome to drop by any time and look around. If you see something you would like to bid on you can do so quickly as a registered user.

Can I register under more than one account?

No. Globe Auction will not allow members to register under more than one account per participant. If at any time you forget your Logon ID or password, or other account information, please don't create a new account in an attempt to remedy the situation. Instead, click on the "Forgot your Logon ID and password?" link when trying to logon. You will be asked to enter the username and e-mail address you registered with so that Globe Auction can send you your current password right away. If you do not receive your e-mail message, please e-mail info@globeauction.ca for further assistance.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes - at anytime. Globe Auction members are expected to maintain valid accounts by keeping their contact information (e-mail address, mailing address, phone number and credit card) up-to-date. Please review your contact information and if it changes, simply update it.
